FABER – S. C. (Sir Cashus) Napier, 87, of Route 1, Faber, died yesterday at his home.
Born in Wintergreen, Sept. 29, 1893, he was the a son of the late James Osborne and Missouri Truslow Napier.
He was member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Puckett Napier; one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Reid of Nellysford; four sons, Frank Napier and Massie L. Napier, both of Nellysford, Roy M. Napier of Waynesboro and Norman R. Napier of Roseland; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Fixx of Falls Church, Mrs. Lucy Poole of Arlington, and Ms. Sidney Napier of California; three brothers, Harry T Napier of Crozet, his twin brother La Dishus Napier of Graham, N.C., and Aubrey O. Napier of Wintergreen; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren an a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by Bishop Garry Bradley and the Rev. Cecil Rhodes. Burial will be in Wintergreen Christian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chesley Puckett, Mitchell Thompson, Earl Thompson, Herbert Truslow, R.V. Small Sr., F. P. Phillips Sr., Gordon Hughes, Doug Thompson, Ray Falls and B. C. Small Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
