STAUNTON – Hilda Sue Puckett Sprouse, 73, of Route 1, Craigsville, died Saturday (May 25, 1991) at King's Daughters' Hospital after suffering a heart attack at her residence. She was born in Nelson County Oct. 25, 1917, a daughter of Luther L. and Nannie Thompson Puckett.
She married Darwin Clemmer Sprouse on Aug. 8, 1980. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1990. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Puckett and Chesley Puckett.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Carolyn) Michael of Craigsville; four grandchildren, Timothy Whitlock of Stuarts Draft, Paula Davies of Lyndhurst, Carrie Michael and Jessica Michael, both of Craigsvile; two sisters, Lillie Napier of Wintergreen and Irene Thompson of Nellysford.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Galen Lemmon. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Napier, Roy Napier, Norman Napier, Billy Little, Hinkle Michael, John Zimro and Mac A. Campbell Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Campbell, Arvil Welcher, Kenneth Campbell, Jim Peters, Paul Peters, Jeff Sensabaugh, Danny Sensabaugh, Melvin Sensabaugh and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Sensabaugh & Zimmerman Funeral Home in Craigsville.
