John Stemper, 82, 818 Seventh St., Kiel, died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been a patient the past three months.
He was born June 25, 1881, near St. Anna, a son of the late John and Barbara Stemper. He attended the St. Anna Catholic School and was married June 24, ____ to Anna Meyer at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The couple lived on a farm in the Town of New Holstein. Mrs. Stemper preceded him in death in March of 1927. Mr. Stemper retired from farming in 1936 and moved to Kiel. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, and the Holy Name Society of the church.
Surviving are a son, Hugo, R. 1, New Holstein; a grandson and two great-grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Hass, Hudson, and Mrs. Alber Koller, West Bend.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, following brief rites at Meiselwitz Funeral Home. The Rev. George Kiefer, pastor will officiate and burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, St. Anna.
