Private Macera
Private Macera lost his life while fighting in France early this month, according to a war department telegram received by his parents.

A native of Cranston, he moved to Johnston with his family as a child and attended public school there. At the time he was inducted, Nov. 17, 1941, he was working with his father on their farm. After training with an armored unit he went overseas in October 1942, and saw service in the North African and Sicily campaigns before participating in the Normandy invasion.

Besides his parents, he leaves four brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Pasco and Ralph of Cranston, Vito of East Greenwich, and Anthony at home. The sisters are Mrs. Evelyn Altrui of Cranston, Mrs Margaret Mulhearn of West warwick. Mrs Mary Lepore wife of Lt. Armondo Lepore, who is serving with the Medical Corps in New Guinea, and Angela and louise, all of Johnston.
