Marion Allison "Al" Crowder, 71, of Rocky Ford, died Sunday at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta of a massive heart attack.
He was born June 21, 1929, at Custer, OK, to Eldred Allison and Gertrude Irene Cooper Crowder .
He is survived by three children: Scott Allison Crowder of Garland, Texas, Shannon Rae (Jim) Murphy of Mesquite, Texas, and Kelli Jo (Chuck) Smythe of Cedar Hill, Texas: one sister Mattie Gene Crowder Calahan of Lincoln City, Oregon, one nephew Michael Howard Smith of Yachats, Oregon; special friend, Eleanor Hillyer of Manzanola; and grandchildren Clay Allen Crowder, Rochelle Allison Crowder, Mark Anthony Crowder and Joey Adam Crowder, all of Allen, TX, Colin Maxwell Smythe, Nicholas Ryan Smythe, Liam Casey Smythe, and Emilie Erin Smythe, all of Cedar Hill, TX.
Mr. Crowder was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, DeAlva Nadine Crowder Mayfield one brother who died at birth and one nephew Charles E. Calahan.
No immediate services are planned, altho services will be held at a future date in San Antonio, TX. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, or a charity of one's choice. Grooms Crematory and Mortuary of Rocky Ford is in charge of arrangements.
