DEATH CLAIMS MRS. BOYD MAYFIELD, Friends and relatives were deeply shocked and grieved Wednesday to learn of the death of Mrs. Boyd Mayfield who passed away that day in the Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital in Kerrville following a kidney operation which she underwent several days ago. Mrs. DeAlva Crowder Mayfield was born in Independence, Oklahoma, on June 22, 1919, the daughter of E. A. and Gertrude Cooper Crowder, and died on September 23, 1959. She was happily married to Boyd Mayfield and had resided in Medina for many years, where she was loved by all who knew her. She was a staunch member of the Medina Methodist Church and the WSCS. She was also the Avon representative at Medina. She was a lovely, charming lady who will be missed by the entire community. Survivors include her husband, Boyd Mayfield; mother, Mrs. Gertrude Crowder, both of Medina; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom E. Crowder of Thomas, Oklahoma; sister, Mrs. Gean Keller of LaCoste; brother, M. A. Crowder of San Antonio. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Plummer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E. A. Morgan, pastor of the Medina Methodist Church, officiating, and internment was made in the Baker Cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Murry LeStourgeon, Wallace LeStourgeon, E. C. Whitehead, Rueben Klein, of Kerrville; Charles Pue and Lawrence Gilbert of San Antonio.
