Roscoe Rector Lockhart, 69, Sandyville, Rt. 2, died Sat. early afternoon at his home following a brief illness.

He was born in Jackson county, the son of John and Alfonza Wilson Lockhart and was a farmer and a member of the Lockhart Methodist Church at Sandyville.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Belva Lockhart, Sandyville; one son, Bernard Lockhart, Sandyville; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Wells, Tovey, Ill.; his mother, Mrs. Alfonza Lockhart, of Belpre; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Pickens and Mrs. Laura Cooper, both of Parkersburg; five brothers, Raymond and Claude Lockhart, both of Belpre; Skip Lockhart, Parkersburg; Dewey Lockhart, Columbus, O.; and Clay Lockhart, Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Lockhart Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Wilkinson, assisted by the Rev. Hoyt Taylor, will officiate.

Friends may call at the Chambers funeral home at Ravenswood until one hour prior to the services.
