Harvey Connelly Love was born February 1,1814, in Tennessee. Harvey C. married Martha Ellen "Patsy" Sands on September 10,1835 in Crawford County,MO.
Harvey and Martha lived on the eastern edge of Maries County near High Gate. Their home stood until about 1980 when it fell down or was torn down. It was a two-story, four bedroom house. One of the rooms downstairs was used as a general store for many years. Another room downstairs was a kitchen/keeping room.
Harvey and Patsy are buried in a small family cemetery, along with several of their babies whose graves were at once marked with shells but the shells are now gone. There is a large stone for Harvey and Martha. Harvey and Martha were the parents of sixteen children, amoung them were three sets of twins.
The children were: Isaac Thomas who died in the Civil War; Jacob Alfred who married Margaret C.(Roberson) Coppedge; John Elbert who married Permelia J. (Fritts) Bradshaw; Pheeby E.; William Lasander; Harvey B. who married Martha Nipp; Virginia Ann who married Jacob Cole Stockton; Margueritte, who died young was a twin to Sarah Ellen who married Cecil Wesley Hayes; Joseph Wilburn who married Rhoda Isabel Beckham; Betty who died young was a twin to Martha Ellen who married Columbus Alexander Inboden; Marion; Benjamin Franklin who married Eliza Reed; a set of twin boys who were stillborn; and Lee Davis who married Anna Elizabeth Imboden.
