Isaac J. Love, was born March 4,1782, in Augusta,Virginia, to Samuel Love Sr. and Mary (Lane) Love. Isaac Love married Phoebe Connelly in 1808 in Tennessee. They moved by way of Indiana and Illinois to Missouri, and entered his first claim in 1839. He settled in the Spring Creek area of Maries County, Mo. Isaac was a farmer, blacksmith and storekeeper. He was a Republican and a Mason.
Isaac died February 15,1866 and is buried in the Miller family cemetery just across the Phelps county line.
