Mrs. Maggie H. Boy, 97, of Route 1, Bluff City, Tenn., died Monday morning at her home. She was the widow of J. E. C. Boy and was a native of Sullivan County. She spent the eariy years of her life in Carter County, Tenn. She was a member of the Christian Church but attended Rockhold United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Colleen Hatcher and Mrs. Edward (Sue Ollie) Vance, both of Bluff City; one step-daughter, Mrs. G.E. (Blanche) Roberts, Apollo Beach, Fla.; two step-sons, Ralph Boy, Bluff City, and Ernest Boy, Valrico, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Bateman and Mrs. George Wilson, Elizabethton, Tenn.; three grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 22 step-great-grandchildren and four greatgreat- step-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie H. Boy will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William J. Fowler and the Rev. Hershel Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Weaver Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred A. Vance, Dick Cumbow, Gordon Peterson, Kenneth Boy, Rickey Boy, Jimmy Boy, Doug Boy and Bill Brown. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Akard Funeral Home. Friends may also call at the residence, Route 1, Bluff City, Tenn., at any time. Mrs. Maggie Boy celebrated her 92nd birthday February 9, 1976 with many friends and relatives. She was born February 5, 1884, the daughter of Samuel Thomas Bullock (born Dec. 12, 1851 and died Jan. 1, 1934) and Susan Ruth Mas- sengill (born Feb. 24, 1856 and died Mary 23, 1931) in Sullivan County.
She moved to Carter county when she was a child, where she lived until she was married and moved back to Sullivan County.
She was one of seventeen children, eight older and eight younger, eight brothers and eight sisters.
