Mary McCall was the daughter of Ebenezer James Newton and Senah Newton. She was the wife of Nathaniel Green Dial. She had two sets of twins and after she was widowed she moved from Fannin County, Texas, to the Eldorado area. She and four of her adult children homesteaded in the Eldorado area. Her children were: Anna, John Asa, Lillah, Almira, Julia, Newton, Samuel, Mary, Maggie, Martha, George, and Jim. The burial location of Julia Dial Murrell has not been found.
When Mary McCall was born the family lived in Bedford County, Tennessee. The next two children were born in Bedford County, also, but the last three in the family were born in Marshall County. Their area after 1836 was in the newly formed Marshall County. When she moved to Oklahoma in her later life she lived in the same place but in three counties/areas. First she moved to Greer County, Texas; then it became Greer County, Oklahoma, Territory; and finally Jackson County, Oklahoma.
