Reverend Kenneth L. Hairgrove passed away July 24th at the Hospice House in Rapid City.

Kenneth was born July, 2nd 1931 to Ethel and Dee Hairgrove in Spur TX. He served in the armed forces during the Korean War. He was discharged on the 4th of July, 1952, and loved to claim all of the flags were flown for his independence.

Kenneth and Zona Mabel Donley were married Oct. 24th 1953. They lived in Abilene TX, while Kenneth finished his B.A. degree at Mc Murry College.
Kenneth received his Masters of Divinity degree from Iliff Seminary in 1962. He served the United Methodist Church in Woodson TX, Lubbock TX, Ovid CO, Presho SD, Wall SD, Howard SD, Belle Fourche SD, and Knollwood Heights U.M.C. in Rapid City, and Gettysburg SD.
Kenneth retired in 1994. After retirement he realized his passion for painting and shared his gift with many.

Kenneth loved spending time with his family: wife Zona; children Stephen and wife Cheryl, David and wife Jeanne, Philip and wife Heather, Zona Ruth Hairgrove, and Mary Beth Nielsen. He was very proud of his grandchildren: Stephanie, Kenna, Valerie, Jessica, Amanda, Brian, Iris, Tassia, Cloye, Zona Grace, and Maggie. He is also survived by two brothers, Roland and Mike, and a sister Shirly Steinfath.

He was preceded in death by his brother Van.

Memorial Services will be held at 10am Wednesday July 28, 2010 at Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont, SD.
