SERVICES MONDAY FOR J.R. ADKINSON

Robert Adkinson, well-known rancher-farmer in Keya Paha County, died May 4th while enroute home from Omaha, where he had gone for a physical examination.

Funeral services were held at the Springview Methodist Church Monday, May 7th with Rev. Glenn Kennicott in charge. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

James Robert Adkinson, the son of James and Frances Adkinson, was born November 22, 1881 at North Bend in Dodge County, Nebraska and passed away May 4, 1945, having reached the of 69 years, 5 months and 12 days.

He lived for the most part in Dodge County until he reached manhood. He received his primary schooling there and also attended Midland College at Fremont for one yer.

He then moved to Pierce County where he met and later married Clara Blaue on June 21, 1911. In 1918 they moved to Keya Paha County and have lived since then on the same ranch, that is their present home.

Mr. Adkinson was always active in community affairs. For many years he was a member and an officer in the local Sunday School. In the early part of his residence in Keya Paha County he confessed his faith in the Christ and received Baptism. He has lived a good life which has borne witness to his faith.

Seven children were born into this home. One daughter, Clara Edith, preceeded her father in death in 1935. He was also preceeded in death by his parents, two sisters, Flora and Eva and two sisters who died in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife; his six children: Leroy, with the Armed Forces in Germany; Harold of Springview; Mrs. Sterling Spann of Manderson, Wyoming; Dorothy Adkinson of Omaha; and Loyd and Lucile at home; also a brother, Charles of Plainview; two grandchildren, Glenda and Dale Adkinson; other relatives and many friend.
