Ruth Helen Spann passed away at Worland Health Care, on Sept. 3, 2016, at the age of 99.

Ruth was born in Springview, Nebraska on Mar. 28, 1917, to Robert and Clara Adkinson. She taught country school in Springview for 7 years. She married Sterling L Spann on June 21, 1943 in Springview. They made their home on the Montgomery Ranch in Manderson. They ranched there until 1954 when they moved to their own farm close by. They had three children, Dee Ann Thorne, Denny Spann, and Dale Spann. While living in Manderson, Ruth was a long time member of the Manderson Homemaker Club.

Ruth was the most loving Grandmother her grandchildren could have asked for, always playing her special games and cards with them.

Ruth moved to Worland in 2002 where she resided at the Apple and Bee Hive Apts. She was under the loving care of Worland Healthcare the last 4 years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Sterling, her son Denny, brothers Harold, Roy and Lloyd, and sisters Dorothy and Edith.

She is survived by Dale (Karin) Spann of Washington, Dee Ann (Robert) Thorne of Worland, and daughter-in-law Carol Spann of Byron. Grandchildren Abby Kulm, Matthew, Sara, and Mark Spann, Kevin Spann, Kelly (Angie) Spann, Teri (Tim) Winland, Todd Kinga) Mills and Michelle (David) Doyle. She also has 12 great-grandchildren.
