James was born on June 29, 1922 in Henry County, the son of the late, John K. and Hattie (Wittington) Jones. On February 12, 1944 in Richmond , IN James married Rubye Todd whom survives him.
James was a graduate of Lewisville High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. James has lived in the Lewisville area all his life and was a retired farmer.
Survivers include; wife of 66 years Rubye (Todd) Jones of Lewisville, son; Rex Jones (Brenda) of Lewisville, daughter; Joyce Cruse (Ronald) of Glenwood; six grandchildren; Jim Jones (Holly), Shawn Jones (Jane), Melissa Griffin (Mike), Bill Rauthe, Dawn Rauthe and Justin Rauthe (Brittney), 7 great-grandchildren and sister Sarah Jones of New Castle.
Preceded in death by, parents, daughter, Janet Buck and sister Loretta Byrd.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday April 15, 2010 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, with Rev: Jim Nipp officating the service.
