Rubye F. Jones, age 84, of Lewisville, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Indianapolis Heart Hospital in Indianapolis after a short illness. She was born December 17, 1926 in New Castle, IN, the daughter of Wesley and Anna (Douglas) Todd.
On February 12, 1944 in Richmond, IN, Rubye married James F. Jones. She attended Straughn High School and was a lifelong resident of Henry County. She worked at Knightstown Elementary School in the cafeteria for several years and previously attended Ebenezer Presbyterian Church near Lewisville. Rubye was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two children: Rex A. (Brenda) Jones of Lewisville and Joyce (Ronald) Cruse of Glenwood; six grandchildren: James (Holly) Jones, Shawn (Jane) Jones both of Rushville, Melissa (Mike) Griffin of Carthage, Bill (Heather) Rauthe of Connersville, Dawn (Brad) Broughton of Batesville and Justin (Brittany) Rauthe of Connersville; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Todd of Dublin; sister, Dorothy Walters of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Jones on April 12, 2010; a daughter, Janet Buck; a brother, Leon Todd; and a sister, Wilma Meyer.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Roby Wood officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. til 12:00 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN 47362.
