`Dale was the son of Ralph Clay Dixon and Mabel Cool. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He married Clara V. Lansford on 28 November 1947 in Peoria, Illinois, they had one son Douglas D. Dixon, a daughter Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Meinders.
