Rose Marie Kremer, 82, of Lisle, IL, died at 11:16 AM Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville.
She was born November 2, 1926 in Galesburg, the daughter of Ralph C. and Mabel Cool Dixon. She married Bud Kremer on April 15, 1949 in Decatur, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Gary (and Cindy) Wright of Bartlett, IL, Joan Melton of Plano, TX, Greg (and Karen) Kremer of Washington, IL, Bruce Kremer of Lisle, Ron Kremer of Naperville, and Susan (and Jim) Beran of Cedarburg, WI; 9 grandchildren, Geoffrey (and Cori), Jason (and Michelle), Meredith, Alison, Kristin, Bradley, Jacob, Michael, and Blake; 3 great grandchildren, Abigail, Jessica, and Ava; 2 sisters, Betty Yates of Galesburg and Dorothy Clatt of East Peoria, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Moore, Merle Edoff, and Delores Goddard; and brothers, Dale and Richard Dixon.
Rose Marie was raised in Galesburg and graduated with the Galesburg High School Class of 1944. She was class treasurer, in the marching band, and was a drum majorette. She had been elected May Queen during her high school years. Her family attended Central Congregational Church. She had lived in the Chicago area since 1954 and in her home in Lisle since 1955.
Rose Marie worked for 27 years as Guidance Secretary at Lisle Senior High School, retiring in 1994.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 PM Sunday at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, where a funeral will be 10 AM Monday. Additional visitation will be 1 to 2 PM Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with a funeral following at 2 PM. The Rev. Dr. Scott Grulke will officiate.
