Christina (Dye) Metz/Metts, 95, died Sunday night, December 10, 1943, at the home of her daughter, Alda Mae LaSalle. Though she had been in failing health for two years she did not become bedfast until two weeks ago. Christina was born in Lonaconing, Maryland, and came to Yuma, in eastern Colorado by covered wagon in 1886. Thirty-nine years ago she moved to Lafayette where her husband's, Benjamin, death occurred.

Surviving Christina, besides the daughter, Alda, is another daughter, MaryAnn Frances Osborne, of Florence, and three sons. The latter are Jack and Charles of Lafayette and Frank of Long Beach, CA. There are 30 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Henning mortuary in Lafayette at 2 o'clock Wednesday. Interment was in Lafayette cemetery.
