d/o Fendall Carr Cason and Rebecca Rawlings Holloday
First married Dr. John E. Long, c. 1845.

Frances was known as Fanny to her family. She went over the Oregon trail in 1843 with her parents, and married Dr. John E Long on 31 July 1845. Dr. Long, from England, was the secretary for the Oregon Provisional Government, per the June 3, 1845 election. On Dec. 2, 1845, he was voted Chief Clerk of the legislature. He drowned while fording the Clackamas River on a horse, June 21, 1846.

Catholic church records of Oregon show John Edwin Long was baptised July 31, 1845, at the same time as Francis Caroline Mary Cason, daughter of Fendall Caesar (sic -[Why church records use Caesar as the middle name, instead of his real name Carr, is unknown.]) Cason and Rebecca Rolling (sic). They were married the same day. Dictionary of Oregon History, pg. 151, gives a biography of Dr. John Edward Long, and states that he had no children. However, Catholic Church Records of the Pacific Northwest, compiled by Harriet Duncan Munnick, records the following baptism on 23 Feb 1846: Marie Rebecca, daughter of John Edwin Long and Frances Caroline Marie Cason. Marie was born Feb. 11th; her godfather was John McLoughlin and her godmother Jane Tailor. (John McLoughlin was head of the Hudson Bay Co. at
Vancouver.]

In 1860 Oregon City, Clackamas Co OR, Frances C Campbell (34, VA) was with husband William B Campbell (45, MA) and son William E Campbell (9, OR)

In 1870 Wasco Co. Oregon, Frances Campbell (44, VA) was with husband William B Campbell (54, MA, farmer), son William (19, OR) and daughter Ellen V (7, OR)
