Adoniram Judson Cason, know as Ad or A.J. Cason, b. 27 Nov 1829 in Culpepper Co., VA, died 28 Dec 1892, Clackamas Co., OR. He married Eliza J. Glover Jan. 9, 1862 in Clackamas Co. OR.

Ad Cason operated a toll bridge across the Clackamas River after 1861, and
served as bridge superintendent for the construction of Knights Covered Bridge,
which crossed the Molalla River near Canby. At the north end of the bridge, his
gun shop served as a stop for the coach on the Portland-Oregon City route. He
built the first school for Gladstone. The founder of Gladstone had purchase 640
acres from William Cason, Ad's brother.
