Elmo Goldsmith, 75, died Tuesday, April 23, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Edinburgh.
He was born on September 4, 1920 in Munfordville, Ky. His parents were Claude and Dorinda (Rucker) Goldsmith. He married Velma Rooks on December 22, 1940, she survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Nancy Alka and Betty Cummings, both of Nineveh, and Jeanie Estes of Edinburgh, two sons, Dwight Goldsmith of Edinburgh and Gilbert Goldsmith of West Virginia; one brother, Howard Goldsmith of Edinburgh; twenty-four grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, Stanley, Hanslgy, and Jimmy Goldsmith; four brothers, Charles, James, Chester and William Goldsmith.
He was retired from Amos-Hill Brothers in Edinburgh.
The funeral was held on Friday, April 26, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery.

He was retired from Hill Brothers Veneer Co.
Funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Eskew–Eaton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Goldsmith was born in Munfordville, Ky., Sept. 4, 1920, the son of Claude and Dorinda Rucker Goldsmith. He married Velma Rooks Dec. 22, 1940. She survives.
Also surviving are children, Jeanie Estes and Dwight Goldsmith, both of Edinburgh, Nancy Alka and Betty Cummings, both of Nineveh, and Gilbert Goldsmith of West Virginia; a brother, Howard Goldsmith of Edinburgh; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
