James B. Goldsmith Dies Sunday
James B. Goldsmith, 35, 712 Roosevelt, Edinburgh died Sunday evening at Bartholomew County Hospital after a several months illness. He had become ill at home on Saturday and was taken to the hospital by the emergency rescue unit.
Goldsmith was an eight-year employee of Alma Plastics and an Air Force veteran.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. David Freeman assisted by the Rev. Clifton Cowan, at 1:30 p.m. today at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery. Calling hours had been held at Eskew Funeral Home.
A military service was conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post 233. Pallbearers were Wayne Burton, Lewis Burton, Don Hadley, Bill Sweeney, Ronnie and Don Bryant.
Goldsmith was born July 28, 1946, in Franklin the son of Elmo and Velma Rooks Goldsmith of Edinburgh and was married January 30, 1966, to Judith Burton who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Tim Goldsmith of Edinburgh; three brothers, Dwight Goldsmith of Edinburgh, Stanley Goldsmith of Newbern and Gilbert Goldsmith of Taylorsville; three sisters, Nancy Alka and Jeanie Estes of Edinburgh route 1 and Betty Burton of Edinburgh.
