James Ben McCartney is a son of Andrew and Jenetta Cook McCartney he married three times.
1) Lourana Myers June 28,1873 the couple had the following children. Burnetta, Enos, Charles H. Helen M. "Nellie".
2) Myrtle Elsten, Sept 13,1911
3) Ida Black, Dec 9,1916.
Setteling with his parents in Randolph county abt 1865-70 after being born in near by Bluff Point in Jay County, Ben helped build the Ridgeville Park in 1886 and took a huge part in the Pioneer settler Meetings of the town during the late 1800s.
