Sherman S. Kelley

Sherman S. Kelley, 78, of 914 Meikle Road, died Thursday in a local rest home. He was a retired farmer.

He was born April 12, 1878, in Heatonville, Mo., and came here from Cherryvale, Kan., in 1950.

Mr. Kelley was a member of the Baptist Church and the Spanish-American War Veterans.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eva Lyle, Tulsa, Okla.; six sons, E. E. Kelley, San Fernando, Calif.; L. F., of Mulvane; B. F., 914 Meikle Road; B. W., San Diego, Calif.; Q. D., of Mulvane, and R. F., of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Gregory, Glendale, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Downing Mortuary Chapel, Monday at 2 p.m., with Chaplain William Teed of the Veterans Administration, officiating. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
