Muscatine Journal And News Tribune - Saturday, June 19, 1943 - West Liberty — J.F. Jennings, 78, resident here for the past 17 years, died at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, this morning after a week’s illness.
He was born in Cedar county April 1, 1865, the son of James and Almira Jennings and married Alice M. Kiser of Wilton in 1891. He was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors are his wife; son, Aaron, of New York city; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Pettit of Mt. Sterling, Ia.; a daughter-in-law. Mrs. Katherine Jennings of Philadelphia; a sister Eunice Carney of Attalisa; a brother Arthur Jennings of Tipton; also one grandchild.
One son, Guy, died in 1933.
The body is at the S.C. Snider Funeral Home pending arrangements for rites.
