A native of Laurens, she was a daughter of the late William and Lou Curry Hill and made her home in Sumter for the past 44 years. She was a member of the Salem Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ashby McCoy of Sumter, Miss Anne Barksdale of Wilmington, NC, Mrs. Woodrow Ward of Asheville, NC, and Mrs. W. E. Caldwell of Greenville; one brother, Ernest A. Hill of Spartanburg; three sisters, Mrs. L. J. Owens and Mrs. Charles Sims of Spartanburg, and Mrs. Willie Penland of Gray Court; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral plans are incomplete.
