Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, W. A. (Bill) Farmer, and Al Brandt, and two daughters, Betty Farmer and Nella Hensley.
She is survived by her devoted son, Alvin Farmer and his wife, Donna, and her loving daughter, Esther Helweg, both of Albuquerque. Other survivors include Robert Hensley of Moriarty, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was born to Nis and Elena (Tastesen) Bau, August 23, 1907 in Minnesota. She grew up in the Dakotas.
She married Bill Farmer in 1927, and they moved to New Mexico and settled in the Barton/Edgewood area. She was a grand lady who will be greatly missed by all.
She was a woman of great strength and character, and she loved her family and friends deeply. She had a wonderful, jovial sense of humor, and loved to laugh.
Her grandchildren remember wonderful times with her at the farm where she patiently taught them to make her famous bread.
Her life is truly a legacy of love for her family, and a joy to everyone who knew her. She touched many hearts and will always be remembered as a true gift in our lives.
She was our happy little hummingbird, we will miss you "sweetie pie."
Honored pallbearers are her grandsons and great grandsons: Bill Hensley, Kenneth Farmer, Mark Baisdon, Ryan Coleman, Jonathan Anderson, and Peter Ford. Honorary pallbearers are Joel Zuercher, Ross Zuercher, Nick Degenhart, and Bryce Patterson.
