"Mrs. Edwin Austin died Tuesday evening at the hospital at Albert Lea, Minn., at which, on Tuesday of last week, she had undergone an operation. She had been apparently improving with prospects favorable for complete recovery until about noon of the day of her death, when a condition arose which depressed her heart action. Notification of the change was phoned Mr. Austin and he drove with all possible haste to Albert Lea. He found her still conscious and able to talk with him until at six o'clock he went out to notify her relatives in Minnesota. When he returned, she was unconscious, a condition from which she did not recover and death occurred at about eight o'clock.

Edith Persons was born on Dec. 3, 1888, in Fillmore county, Minn. where she resided with her parents until Sept. 11, 1907, when she was married to Edwin Austin, and came with her husband to Thompson, where they have since resided. Four sons were born to their union, Chester, aged 13 years; Adrian, 11; Kenneth, 8, and Edgar, 4. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Persons of Rochester, Minn., three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Geo. Priewert and Mrs. Frank Stompe of Minneapolis and Mrs. Wm. Hills and Henry and Earl Persons of Rochester, Minn.

Mrs. Austin was a young woman of pleasing personality, capable, industrious, and a loving wife, devoted mother and kind neighbor. She was held in sincere regard by all who knew her. Her husband and children have the deep sympathy of the community in their bereavement by her untimely death."
