Obituary:
Charles Hiram Person, 79 years old, succumbed in the Colonial hospital at Rochester Friday afternoon to injuries suffered in an automobile accident Tuesday afternoon when cars driven by Mr. Persons and Miss Gladys R. Wendt collided at an intersection in the city.
Mr. Persons was born July 13, 1857 at Pilot Mound, and at Preston, Nov. 9, 1876, married Dollie Jane Kelsey who survives with two daughters Mrs. Nate Harris and Mrs. George Priewert, both of Detroit. A farmer near Chatfield, Mr. Persons had lived in the county for 30 years. For some time he had made his home in Rochester.
Surviving also are a sister, Mrs. Rose Stacher, of Cody, Neb., and a brother, Irven Persons, of Pilot Mound.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Vine funeral home by Rev. Ernest Malloy.
Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
