Simon G Kohler, 83, a retired mechanical engineer and a resident of Oak Park, died of cancer Thursday at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Mr. Kohler worked for 45 years at Great Lakes Meat Packing Co. in Detroit. He retired about 15 years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Oak Park.
He is survived by a son, Ronald, a daughter, Patricia; two brothers; two sisters, and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile, Royal Oak. An 11 a.m. mass will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 13500 Oak Park Blvd., Oak Park. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Roseville.
