Jeanette Steinke Carter, 91, of Wapakoneta, died 3:55 a.m., Thurs. March 17, 2016, at the Springview Manor, Lima, OH. She was born May 3, 1924, in Botkins, OH, the daughter of George A. & Philomena C. (Koeing) Steinke, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 25, 1947, she married Robert C. Carter, who preceded her in death.

a brother, Lester (Patricia) Steinke, Scottsdale, AZ,
sister-in-laws, Mary Steinke, Sidney, OH,

Sandra Steinke, Phoenix, AZ,

She was preceded in death by a son, Keith R. Carter, 4 sisters, LaVera Laibe, Hilma Ruppert, Edna Schweitzer, & Mona McAndrews, and also 4 brothers, Myron Steinke, Vernon Steinke, Leo Steinke, Eugene Steinke and an infant brother, Doris.

A teacher, Mrs. Carter retired from the Bath Local Schools. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a graduate 1943 of Botkins High School, a 1974 graduate of The Ohio State University, and a 1978 graduate of the University of Dayton, where she earned a Master’s Degree. Her talents included painting and sewing.
