Leo Marion Steinke, born to George Andrew and Philomena Catherine Koenig Steinke January 27, 1928. Had a twin brother Myron Lawrence, they weighed over 8 lbs each. Leo attended New York Tech, Cincinnati and graduated from American Television of Technology, Chicago, February, 1952. Married Minnie Katherin Culbertson of Russellville,KY on Aug. 19, 1950 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, OH. where he lived. Katherin was a recent convert to Catholicism. They had three children, Cynthia Jean, David Michael, James Paul.

Leo worked for Rockwell International as an engineer, designing ignition systems for rockets and missles, including the Hellfire. He had a larger-than-life personality, and an ornery sense of humor. He had an endless collection of baseball hats, one for every occasion. He loved spending time with his son, James Paul, tinkering with computers long before Bill Gates ever came out with Windows. One of his favorite hobbies was going to the Springfield Antique Show with Katherin, and every time he went, he bought a bag of oranges or a bag of popcorn. His favorite TV show was Hee Haw, but he watched CBS Nightly News every night, then the Lawrence Welk Show. Leo was a meticulous record-keeper and curator of Steinke archives, no matter how insignificant they seemed to others. Most of all, Leo was a lively, loving man who adored his family, and was, in turn, adored by them.
