Mrs. Ruby Johnson Smith, age 81 of Rte 1, Denton, passed away January 13, at Brian Center Nursing Care after an extended illness. She was a life-long resident of Jeff Davis County. She was born on December 26, 1914 to the late Charlie and the late Elizabeth Joyce Johnson.

Survivors include:
One son, Alfred Smith [Jenny] of Denton ga.
Five daughters: Clarice Smith Johnson [L. N.] of Alma, Pat Smith Wright [Franklin] of Hazlehurst, Faye Smith Sinclair [James] of Douglas, Emily Smith Hutto [Buddy] of Denton, and Rhonda Smith Dunn [William] of Martinez Ga.
18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held on January 14, at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Kirkland and Rev James Wilcox officiating. The burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Steven Wright, Kirk Munsayac, Greg Smith, Scott Sinclair, Loyd Johnson, Darrell Hutto and Dustin Hutto.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
