Ruby Clarice Smith Johnson, age 80, of Alma passed away Thursday, December 8th at her residence following a battle of Alzheimers. She was born in Jeff Davis County on December 14, 1935 to Clarence Alfred Smith, Sr. and Ruby Johnson Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Loyd Norman “L.N.” Johnson, Jr.

Clarice was retired from the Bacon County Board of Education as a School Teacher and was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
One son, L. N. "Loyd" Johnson III of Alma.
One brother, Alfred Smith (Jenny) of Denton, GA..
Four sisters: Patricia Hand (Lorenzo) of Alma, Faye Sinclair of Douglas, Emily Hutto (Buddy) of Denton and Rhonda Dunn of Athens, GA..
Three grandchildren: Paige, Chase and Aniston Johnson and their mother, Traci Johnson of Alma.
Three sisters-in-law: Debbie [Glynn] Parker, Jane [Michael] Powell and Betty Sue Johnson, all of Alma.
Special friend and caretaker Louella Wooden.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 11th at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Hutto officiating. The interment followed in the family cemetery.

Active pallbearers were: Steven Wright, Darrell Hutto, Charlie Powell, Tom and Dan Parker, Vance Burkett and Kirk Munsayac. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
