From Holland St. John -"Angelitha was born in February 11, 1828 and was the youngest daughter of Wilson and Elizabeth (Downen) Jones. Her parents were early settlers in southeastern Indiana Territory around 1807. She comes from a large family, most of which developed farms in Black Township, Posey County, Indiana. On November 4, 1849 in Posey County she married James Chamberlin (sometimes spelled Chamberlain). James had been born in 1825 in Indiana (one source mentions Illinois) and was three years older than Angelitha. Angelitha's younger sister Evaline married Solomon Edgar Chamberlin, the younger brother of James. So sisters married brothers. James and his family as well as his parents, uncles and cousins also established farms in the area during the early and mid-1800s. James had been previously married and was the father of one son, Jonathan, who was three months of age by the 1850 U S Census. James was farming in Black Township and the value of his land was valued as $900. By 1860 five children had been added to the family: Hannah (9), Cleantha (7), Victoria (5), George Wilson (3) and Jerome Victor. (1). Also living with them was Daniel Chamberlin who was 18 years of age and listed as a farm laborer. Daniel was most likely a nephew of James and helping out on the farm. Two more children were added to the family before they migrated to the Pacific Northwest: James C. (born in 1861), and Charles Morton (born in 1864). Around 1865 the family journeyed first to Oregon, later to Washington Territory and then to Idaho. Their son William Osburn was born in Oregon in 1867. They established a farm near the town of Grangeville, Idaho in Idaho County. By 1880 James was fifty-five and was farming in Idaho County. Angelitha ("Ancelica" in the census) was fifty-two, and four of their children were living on the farm: Jerome, James, Charles and William. Angelitha passed away on September 24, 1889 in Idaho County and is buried in the Chamberlin Family Graveyard located three miles north of the town of Mount Idaho, Idaho County, Idaho. While her stone is no longer standing, it was inscribed with:
"Angelitha, Wife of James Chamberin /died/September 24, 1889/Age: 60 years, 6 months, 17 days; She was a tender mother here, and in her life the Lord did fear." Their son James sold the homestead to his daughter Victoria Crooks and died on July 30, 1892 while visiting his brother Samuel in Illinois and is buried at the Waveland Cemetery, Grisham Township, Donnelson, Illinois. By 1900 their son George, who was now married, was farming around Grangeville Village, Idaho."
