She married Wallace William (or William Wallace) Herd on 14 Mar 1844 in Union Co. Their farm was in Salem twp, Champaign Co., where her first two children were born.

The Herd family was a part of the move west about 1853. We have no evidence of the date of their departure from OH or if they stopped in IL. The assumption is that they were with the group. - Whiteside, Co., IL to Black Hawk Co., IA -
Christina's third child was born in IA on 5 Dec 1856. The Black Hawk Co. list of early settlers notes they had arrived "1855 - 1856". Her fourth child, John was also born in IA. Christina died in 1879 and is buried in the West View cemetery, just outside La Porte City, with her two daughters & son, John.
Her son, William Lafayette moved his family to Oklahoma between 1880 and 1900. We assume Wallace moved with them, but have no evidence. No record of his death or burial has been found.

She is most likely buried in the "vacant" spot next to her daughter, Florence who died 3 years before Christina.
