Roodhouse — William James Barnard. 93 years old farmer residing west of Athensville, passed away at his home Tuesday morning at 10:15 o'clock. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 3, 1949.
William James Barnard was born in Athensville Jan. 22, 1857 the son of Joshua T. and Aramita Finley Barnard. He is survived by nine children, Mrs. Golden Ethel Chapman, Jerseyville; Gertrude I., at home; Dollie E. Hinman, Palmyra; J. Kirk Barnard, Jerseyville; Russell A. Barnard, Athensville; Mrs. Louise A. Blair, Collinville: Mrs. Gladys Greshman, Springfield; Mrs. Sylvia A. McCauley, Jerseyville, and Pansey Duncan, Chicago. The body is at the Mackey Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Athensville Baptist church. Burial will be in Richwoods cemetery east of Roodhouse.
