OBITUARY as it appeared January 24, 1983, in The States Graphic, Brownsville, TN: W. R. Duncan, Stanton - Services for William Robert "W. R." Duncan, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brownsville Funeral Home with the Revs. David Combs and Don Brown officiating. Burial will be in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Mr. Duncan, a retired civil service employee at Millington Naval Station, died Sunday morning at Haywood Park General Hospital after an apparent heart attack. He was a Stanton native, a World War II veteran and a member of Dancyville Assembly of God Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucille Sylvester Duncan; three sons, Bobby Duncan of Brownsville, Allan Duncan of Ripley and Glynn Duncan of Bartlett; five brothers, Walter Duncan of Memphis, Johnny Duncan of Selmer, James Duncan of Dancyville, Odell Duncan of Somerville and J. T. Duncan of Millington; a sister, Mrs. Percy Martin of Stanton; and seven grandchildren.
