Virginia M. Retlich
Virginia M. Retlich, 74, formerly of 11 E. Paine St., Kiel, died Friday morning, Aug. 13, 1999 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where she resided the past two months.
She is the former Virginia Karsteadt born July 11, 1925 in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Harry and Freida Rautamnn Karsteadt. She attended Millhome Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Kiel High School.
On March 5, 1949, she married Allen Retlich at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, Wis.
Virginia was employed at the Altona Supper Club, New Holstein, for 15 years.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, Louis Corners; Ladies Aid and the Kiel Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include two sons, DuWayne (Patricia), rural Elkhart Lake; Brian (Barbara), Cleveland; two daughters, Susan Retlich and special friend, Russ Cavins, Kenosha; Kathryn (Mark) Jeske, Plymouth; five grandchildren, Jason and Christopher Retlich and Amanda, Marissa and Scott Jeske.
She is further survived by one brother, Wallace Karsteadt, Rockville and two sisters, Glendoris (Dean) Brocker, Plymouth, and Julianne (Myron) Firkus, Rosholt, Wis. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Henning and Marian Winter and one brother, Don Lee Karsteadt.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, with the Rev. Ted Olson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Church, on Monday, from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
A memorial has been established in her name.
