John Cumpston, aged 60, of Rock Lick, W. Va., field foreman of the Manufacturers' Light and Heat Gas Co., dropped dead at 2:30 p.m., near the home of Edward Calvert of Cameron yesterday.

Mr. Cumpston has been in his usual health and worked yesterday. He was enroute home when he died. Deputy Coroner Clyde L. Laper of Marshall County said that heart trouble caused his death.

An employe of the Manufacturers Light and Heat Company the past 35 years, the deceased was widely known in this section. He was prominent in church and other community affairs and was a member of the Sugar Grove Church of God.

In addition to his wife, Mrs. Nora Poland Cumpston, he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Charles (Anna) Parsons, Mrs. Nellie Gettings, Harry, Glenn, Frank and W. H. Cumpston, all of Cameron; Mrs. Fern Taylor, of Wheeling and Mrs. Mayme Leichter, of Youngstown, Ohio; also two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Stewart, of Fairmont, W. Va., and Mrs. Mayme Rich, of Morgantown, W. Va.; and one brother, W. H. Cumpston, of Fairmont, W. Va.
