Russell Glenn Cumpston, Sr., 63, of Burton, W. Va., died at 10:25 AM Thursday, Aug. 13, 1970, in Monongalia County General Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.

He was born Feb. 18, 1907, at Bristoria, a son of John F. and Nora Dell Poland Cumpston.

Mr. Cumpston was a member of the Church of Christ at Kausooth, W. Va., and was employed by the Manufacturers Light and Heat Company at Hundred, W. Va.

Surviving are his wife, Freda Grandon Cumpston; six daughters; Mrs. Richard (Lucille) Bartrug, and Mrs. Michael J. (Betty) Stewart, both of Burton, W. Va.; Mrs. Harold W. (Janice) Cosgray, of Canonsburg; Mrs. Billy (Nancy) Moore, of Darlington; Mrs. Harold J. (Jo) Lamteretta, of Matamoras; and Mrs. Terry L. (Susan) Bowman, of Vineland, N. J.; three sons; Russell, of Cumberland, Md.; George, of Route 2, Cameron, W. Va.; and Charles, with the US Navy at Little Creek, Va.; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, William H. And John F., both of Cameron, W. Va.; and three sisters; Mrs. Nelle Gittings, Moundsville, W. Va.; Mrs. Fern Taylor, of Wheeling, W. Va.; and Mrs. Mayme Leichter, of Youngstown, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Sunday with burial in Burton, W. Va.
