"The following is taken from "Judges of The Republic of Texas," p. 121: Garrison Greenwood was born Dec. 19, 1799 in Franklin County, Georgia, the son of Fleming and Lavina (Gatewood) Greenwood.
He came to Texas in 1833 to Grimes County, then moved to Shelby, Nacogdoches, Anderson, Caldwell and Lampasas Counties. His death came Oct. 18, 1859 in Lampasas County.
Reverend Greenwood was a Justice of the Peace in Shelby County (1839-1841) and Chief Justice of Caldwell County in the 1850s. Garrison Greenwood married Elizabeth Jordan (born 1805 in Kentucky) on September 16, 1819 in Jefferson County, Illinois.
Fourteen children were born to this couple."
