Son of Garrison Greenwood and Elizabeth (Jordan)

The following obit is copied as it was printed in the January 24, 1908 edition of The Lampasas Leader. Contributed by FAG member Sue Lilley:
"J.J. Greenwood
J.J. Greenwood died at his home two miles south of the city this (Wednesday) morning at about half past three o'clock, after having been in an unconscious condition from a stroke of apoplexy or paralysis since Wednesday night, January 15th. Mr. Greenwood was among the very oldest settlers of this section, having come here in 1852, and having lived here continuously since that date. He assisted in driving the Indians from this section, and endured all the hardships of the hardy frontiersman. There are five living children, three daughters, and two sons, Charles and Carl, the children all being men and women and having their own responsibilities. B.C. Greenwood of this place, is a brother of the deceased. The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community."
