He was born at Nettle Hill, Greene County, Dec. 22, 1877, a son of Hubert and Elizabeth Rhoades Huffman. He lived in Washington since 1930, prior to that residing in Jefferson.
Mr. Huffman, who attended Waynesburg College, taught school in Washington and Greene Counties, retiring in 1943 after 50 terms, because of ill health. He was also a farmer.
He was a member of the Bethany Methodist Church, Nettle Hill.
He was married June 26, 1912, to Myrna Thistlethwaite, of Jefferson, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, John H. Huffman, of Washington; two daughters, Elizabeth, wife of Thomas D. Black, Alliquippa, and Margaret, wife of Lee Frey, Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Long, of Waynesburg, and three grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
