Ruth Ann "Tootise" Gray, 85 of Clines Chapel Rd. Waverly, died at 6:00 AM Monday, May 10, at her residence. She was born on July 31, 1924 in the Peach Mountain area of Adams County, Ohio to the late Holt and Nella Frost Whitley. Surviving are her husband, Hershel "Len" Gray whom she married on September 1, 1962. Also surviving are a daughter, Connie Badgley Minshall-Eblin and husband, Bill of Chillicothe. A step son, Hershel Leonard Gray of Chillicothe, and a step daughter, Connie Lorain Gray of Circleville, OH. 3 grandchildren: Jeff Minshall and wife, Dana,of Waverly, Cindy Ford and husband, Terry of Westerville, Ohio, and Tim Minshall and wife Lisa of Circleville, Ohio, 9 great grandchildren: Cole Remington Minshall, Anthony Bickers, Nick Seymour, Cody and Callie Higginbotham, Kaci Madison Minshall, Audrey Mae Minshall, and Trevor and Jessica Riffle. 3 sisters-in-law: Lois, Ruth, and Helen Whitley, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emory Badgley on September 9, 1960, 7 brothers: Russell, Berlin, Roby, Ray, James, Johnny, and Leo Whtiley, 2 sisters: Clarice Weatherby, and Ruby Heaton, 1 grandchild, Dalton Boyce Minshall, and a great grandchild, Paris Lee Ann Robertson. She was a former employee of the U.S. Shoe Co. in Greenfield, OH, and was co-owner of the former Don's Furniture and Appliance Store in Waverly for many years. She will be so missed by so many, family and friends. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice of Portsmouth for all of their care. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Joey Sandlin officiating. Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
