Joseph Holt Whitley, 74, Bainbridge Rt. 2, died Thursday at 8:15 A.M. in Chillicothe Hospital.
He was born December 28, 1998, near Cynthiana, Kentucky, a son of William and Mary Corbett Whitley.
In 1909, he married the former Nella Florence Frost, who survives.
He was a Navy veteran, and was a retired farmer and American Pad and Textile Co. employee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and six sons, Mrs. Ruby Heaton, Mrs. Ruth Badgley and Berlin and James Whitley, all of Greenfield, John and Leo, Bainbridge Rt. 2, Ray of Peebles and Mrs. Clarice Weatherby and Russell Whitley of California; two sisters and three brothers, Walter of Greenfield, Raymond, Bainbridge Rt. 2, Richard of Columbus, Mrs. Ethel Reed of Wamsleyville and Mrs. Leefie Wilson of Mississippi and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Roby and two brothers. Services were held Monday at 2 P.M. in the Strueve Funeral Home in Greenfield, in charge of Rev. Virgil C. Hair. Burial was in Greenfield Cemetery.
