Parents Frank and Harriet Hatch- she was born in Huntsville ,Texas. The family moved to Augusta where she attended Glover High School. She joined Brewington Baptist Church. She was part of the Queen of Sheba Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star. She married Pennington Curvey who preceded her in death May 26, 1972. To that union 14 children. Six preceded her in death: Geneva Curvey, Will Earnest Curvey,Sr., Ella Curvey Edwards, Troy Curvey Sr., Lorina Curvey Lewis, and Tannie Curvey Overshown. Other children: Artist Curvey Sr., Pennington Curvey Jr., (twins) Margaret Overshown, and Mary Ree Hickman, Ola Francis Pines, Joe Louis CurveySr., Harriet Curvey, and Eotis Curvey.
She moved to Houston to be close to her children.She united with the First Baptist Church.
