Born November 7, 1924 Augusta, texas to Pennington and Mallie Hatch Curvey,one of fourteen children. Attended Augusta Schools and Graduated from Ralph Bunch High School. Joined Brewington Baptist Church.
September 19, 1943 she married Howard Overshown who preceded her in death September 9, 1989. To this union four children were born-Howard E. Overshown, Jewel Overshown Jackson, Geneva Overshown and Larry Overshown.
They moved to Houston, Texas and lived there for more than 49 years. They joined Galilee missionary Baptiast Church in 1952 -Rev. D.S. Berry was pastor. She loved working in the church and the Independent Missionary Baptist General Association of Texas Congress.
She was preceded in death by her husband ; father; two brothers: Ernest Curvey and Troy Curvey; two sisters: Ella Edwards and Lorenia Lewis.
She leaves to mourn her passing her mother,her four children one daughter-in-law Glenda Overshown; four sisters Margaret Overshown, Mary Hickman, Ola Francia Pines, Harriet Curvey; four brothers: Artist Curvey, Sr.,Pennington Curvey,II, Joe Lewis Curvey, Sr., and Eotis Curvey; a host of relatives.
