Stegall died at 2:51 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 1993, in Lubbock´s St. Mary Hospital following an illness.
He was born on April 10, 1922, in Desdemona. He married Monette Sessums on Dec. 7, 1951, in Clovis, NM. He was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. He formerly owned and operated service stations in Ralls and Crosbyton. He was a former insurance salesman for American National Ins. Co., and was presently the Crosbyton School Crossing Guard. He was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps and had lived in Crosbyton most of his life. He was also a Crosbyton Volunteer Fireman for several years. He is preceded in death by a son, Kelly Stegall and by a sister Ozetta Irene Stegall.
Survivors include his wife, Monette Stegall of Crosbyton; three sons, James Stegall of Bridgeport, Joe Stegall of Austin and Mark Stegall of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Nova Jean Lapcsik of Buffalo; two brothers, Irvin Stegall and Kenneth Stegall, both of Crosbyton; two sisters, Olene Jackson of Lubbock and LaVerne Gregory of Lorenzo; eight grandchildren, James Storm Shirley, John Barret Lapcsik, Laura Stegall, Nora Stegall, Mary Stegall, Shane Stegall, Steven Stegall and Gwendolyn Stegall; and a great grandchild, Morgan Stegall.
